Greetings from the Pruietts!

Yes, I know, it's been a LONG time since we have posted last. Believe me, I've tried, however, either I was experiencing computer trouble, or the images wouldn't load, or I'd be in a hurry and wouldn't have time to "compose."

Well, today is 12/25, and I have a few minutes to catch everyone up on what's been going on in the household since last time.

As most of you are aware, we adopted Caleb Jordan back in August (see archives). Since then, he has grown into a wonderful little handsome guy. He's walking, talking, playing and enjoying being all boy! Would you believe he already knows what to do with a microphone? Currently he's enjoying his MeMe and PaPaw visiting from Dyersburg, TN this winter. Yes, he's spoiled rotten.

Cheryl is staying busy keeping three boys on a daily basis during the week. She has (our) Jordan, his little buddy Alex and a 9 week old foster son named - are you ready for this - Jordan! So her life is very busy during these days. She has done a wonderful job decorating the house and preparing all the delicious meals for our Christmas celebration during these last few days.

I have just finished all the musical events at church this past week. I also got to play "Santa" for the first time last evening. What a blessing that was! Fortunately this Christmas wasn't too hard, putting together all those toys. Everything Jordan recieved for Christmas was already assembled, which is good for this old guy. I have a feeling that the next 10-12 years will be different, though. Would love to hear from you "experienced" santas about what to expect in the future.

Please let us know how you guys are doing!

May 2008 be especially blessed and prosperous for you all!

Keep in touch,

Love in Christ,

The Pruietts (posted by Bobby)

They Didn't Even Ask Me!

To all of my fellow canines in blogland, I'm sure you've heard by now that my mom and dad decided to bring little humans into my domain.
I have been top priority and queen here for over two years. And besides, I don't understand what all the fuss is about. These "babies" cry, want to be held, sometimes don't sleep all night, pull my hair, they come with a lot of equipment (see photo) and they are not even house broken! However, I must admit, I like that white stuff they drink.
They didn't even ask me and I am not a happy camper. This past April I turned two years old and they didn't even acknowledge it was my birthday. This picture expresses exactly how I feel about the situation.
So, to all my furry friends...Beware when those little humans invade your domain.

Buddy's Broken Heart

On September 15, 2007 Buddy's first love, Heather (better known as Bobo), broke his heart by marrying someone else. Buddy knows she is happy, so he took it all in stride. He is pictured here with her showing that he could take it like a man. (a little man) He has expressed his approval of their marriage as long as he can still go to their house to feed the turtles and play with their dog Oscar.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Brewer

"CALEB JORDAN"

It is with great joy and excitement that we introduce little "Caleb Jordan" to our family! On Wednesday August 8th, "Jordan" as he is called, was adopted! Words cannot express how we feel. The attached pictures show our Florida Baptist Children's Home representatives and our attorney who handled the adoption process. God has been so good to us by allowing us the privilege of having this little guy in our home for the past year, and now for the privilege of raising him in the nurture and admonition of the Lord! We are so excited! We are so thankful! We are so BLESSED! For those of you who haven't met Jordan, he is a bundle of joy and energy! He is a good baby, easy-going, very observant and inquisitive. He loves to ride in his little red plastic car (as dad and mom push him from here to there), loves to play with his Arkansas Razorback Baseball bat and ball that his Uncle Eddie gave to him for his first birthday, and likes to play with his little friend, Alex, the son of Jeff and Kristy Robb.
He loves going to church and being the life of the party in the nursery. And all the people at church have fallen head over heals in love with him.
We want to thank all who have been praying for this adoption to happen. It's been a long, up-and-down roller coaster of a ride, from the standpoint of finalizing the adoption. Once Jordan was placed from foster care in our home to adoptive status, the process seemed to be slow as Christmas. We were given adoption dates that were on again, off again, papers to sign, etc. However, in God's divine time, He purposed it to happen. We both realized that God's timing is perfect, that He knows best, and that it will happen when He wants it to, not us! To be honest, it doesn't seem like it's been a year and a month since he's come into our home. And I don't really think that it has sunken into my small brain that he is now my SON! For now, I'm praising the Lord!
I will try to start a picture page on the web, probably on flickr (thanks to the Headys and the Johnsons for the recommendation), and once it's up and running, I'll post the updates/info on my blog page for you to go and view.
Till then, keep in touch, stay in the Word, and come see us in PC!
Love in Christ,
Bobby, Cheryl, Jordan and Big Mama!

Out with the old, in with the new!

The Pruiett's have a new lawn mower! That's right. After 16 years using my trusty old "Sears Craftsman self-propelled mulching mower" that I bought brand new, I finally broke down and bought a new mower. It was a tough decision. After all, my old Sears mower has been with me since my bachelor days. I purchased it in Dyersburg Tennessee when I served at Cheryl's home church as music and youth minister back in 1991. It has brought me (and us) many years of faithful service by making my various yards look neat and trim. There was the year when our yard was too big for me to "push-mow," so I bought a riding mower (which now resides at my father-in-law's house) to take care of the major portion of the yard, while I used my push mower to trim with. Since we have relocated to Panama City in the past three years, I have noticed that my old push mower was lacking alot. The shaft had become bent; the blade was warped; alot of times it didn't want to start; it was heavy and bulky to get out of the rear storage closet anytime I wanted to mow. So this past Saturday, I went down to the local "Home Depot" and found a great deal on a brand new Honda self propelled three speed mower in which I purchased and brought home. I took it out of the box, put oil and gas in it, and have begun a new era in lawn mowing in the Pruiett household. I'll miss old gray (which has been donated to a local charity). However, it hasn't seen it's last blade of grass just yet. I hope the new young mower will provide me with as many years (if not more) than old gray did. Truth is, after mowing with the new mower this past Saturday, my yard has never looked better! I should have made the purchase a year ago!

Hope all is well with you and yours!

We're all fine here.
